![]() 03/29/2016 at 09:48 |

Could be hiding behind the steering wheel.

it also says doesn’t run, so it just may be. I wonder how much he wants?

Something is off but they aren’t advertising it for $1500 and the area code seems legit.
It’s odd that the only BOSS 429 call out is on the rear license plate holder.

whoaaaaaa
seems legit (for real)
No price means it’s going to be high. Not running and I bet he’s asking running money.

Why would it be a scam? These are not pictures stolen from somewhere else on internet and these are shitty pictures, most likely taken by an old guy who has no idea what the fuck he is doing. It fits everything telling me it’s not a scam... Now a Craigslist add featuring pictures like this and not sold by a dealer, I’d be more suspicious... lol

The engine shot is a 429 BOSS clearly.

That console is not stock. That’s a Shelby and I forgot what else uses that ‘deluxe’ console (the more ashtrays, the more fancy).

someone who has one that doesn’t run. It all depends on why it doesn’t run. A numbers-matching Boss 429 can go for around $200k, but if the engine’s toast that’ll basically torpedo the car’s value. It’s the engine which makes these cars rare.
fun fact- these didn’t use head gaskets. they had O-ring kits instead. ISTR they weren’t very durable. so it’s not unlikely this engine took a gulp of coolant and hydrolocked.

I think it’s pretty clear that you don’t have to be in your right mind to sell anything on craigslist.

He says it doesn’t run and leaves out the transmission on number matching parts. Likely has no trans in the car
EDIT: actually it does. Maybe the trans is not in the car though

I called, the story checks out. I am also located about an hour from the car.

What does he want for it? (Feel free to not answer if you are going to go buy it!)

Curious how much does he want for it and why is it not running did he say? Also I know it’s in the STL area, but where exactly if you care to share or shoot me an e-mail

Well I did some digging and spoke with another person who knew about the car. The current owner bought it and it turned out to not be as complete as the seller stated. Current owner has put the car together but not brought it to running condition. Engine was rebuilt back in the early 80's but never finished.

Oh no I am not in that kind of mustang market lol. I was trying to fins a potential buyer. I will not say what he wanted but it was not out of line with the market.

Ah gotcha, so are most of the parts there to finish it? Also wanna shoot me a message on the price?
